Located 300 meters from Rancho Quemado School, this rural inn offers a comfortable stay with capacity for 5 people.

It has two rooms, equipped with a double bed and three singles, as well as a private bathroom.

The property has a large green area and additional services such as food and guided visits to a research project on palm oil productivity in diversified systems with banana and cocoa, developed in collaboration with Stanford University and INOGO.

Traditional Dairy: Conservando Huellas

The Ureña Pizarro family was a pioneer in agriculture and cattle raising in the community. The “Conservando Huellas” tour seeks to preserve and share the richness of the peasant culture and traditions.

Visitors will be able to milk cows under the guidance of Don Trino, who has been milking cows since he was 8 years old.

Artisanal Gold Tour: Finca las Minas

Live the unique experience of being a gold prospector in the Osa Peninsula. Juan, who started in this trade at the age of 7 years old, shares with passion his knowledge and the history of gold in the region, a legacy he passed on to his family.

The tour begins at the old facilities where the gold was processed, followed by a visit to the famous river where it was extracted.
Visitors will be able to participate in the search process and also admire the natural beauty of the surroundings, with waterfalls and endemic trees.

UZU Tracking Expeditions

Plato Negro

Research

The Melanocephala project, driven by CRWILD and the Bushmaster Conservation Project, works on the conservation of the Black headed Bushmaster (Lachesis) in the South Pacific region, specifically in the heart of the Osa Peninsula, in Rancho Quemado.

This program seeks to generate knowledge and protect this species in its natural habitat, ensuring its long-term preservation.

Peccaries: Guardian of the Tropical Rainforests

Research

Also known as white-lipped peccary or calibrando, it is a keystone species in the tropical forests of Costa Rica and Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina. In the Osa Peninsula, especially in and around Corcovado National Park, this species plays a very important role in the health of the ecosystem.

In our community, located in Rancho Quemado, we work actively in their protection and conservation, promoting monitoring and environmental education initiatives to ensure their survival.

Through our commitment, we seek to preserve not only the wild pig, but also the natural balance of the forests it inhabits.
